“Lines in the Carpet”  synesthesia painting inspired by @ashleymcbryde

This painting felt different from the moment I began. It carried the quiet rhythm of something familiar; patterns that have always been there but only reveal themselves when you slow down enough to notice.

Painting this song felt like being held inside repetition. Warm taupes, muted blues and purples settle into tightly layered lines that stretch with quiet restraint. The colors shift, creating subtle variations that almost disappear into one another, like the worn paths and textures that form over time without us ever realizing it.

This painting asks you to linger. The longer you look, the more the layers begin to emerge, revealing movement hidden within stillness and small changes tucked inside repetition.

For me, this piece became a meditation on familiarity: the beauty found in the details we often overlook, the patterns we unconsciously follow, and the quiet comfort of things that remain.
