“Hand Me Downs” synesthesia painting inspired by @ashleymcbryde
Painting this song felt like layers of sound carrying layers of history. There’s something almost physical about the way this song moves through me. Some parts feel heavy and grounded, while others lift, stretch, and expand; creating this constant tension between what sits underneath and what wants to break through. I wanted the painting to hold that feeling of what we inherit, what we carry, and what we eventually have to decide is ours to keep.
And the glow became part of that story, too. Some things are always there, even when they aren’t visible. Sometimes you have to bring them into the light to really see them, to understand what you want to carry forward, and what you’re finally ready to leave behind.
